Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown swimming and diving team fell to BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The men's team (1-4) lost 102-65, while the women (2-3) lost 93-74.

On the women's side, senior tri-captain Katie Amaro (Shreveport, La./Loyola Prep) took first place in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:19.17. Sophomore Caitlin Colling (Monson, Mass./Monson) finished first in both the 100 freestyle and the 50 freestyle with times of 1:03.46 and 29.18, respectively. Also finishing in first place was senior tri-captain Corinne Rhodes (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 38.17. The quartet of junior Liz Nugent (Westport, Conn./The Hopkins School), Rhodes, sophomore Claire Nugent (Westport, Conn./The Hopkins School) and Colling placed first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:14.08. Freshman Katelyn O'Connor (New Rochelle, N.Y./The Ursuline School) placed second in the 50 butterfly with a time of 32.71.

On the men's side, the quartet of sophomore Chris Ball (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), senior tri-captain Don Ball (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), freshman Daniel Robinson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) and freshman David Ballinger (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) placed second in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of 1:46.22. Ballinger also recorded a pair of second place finishes in the 100 individual medley and the 50 butterfly with times of 1:07.22 and 28.86, respectively. Also delivering second place finishes were Robinson in the 200 freestyle and the 50 backstroke and Chris Ball in the 100 freestyle. Senior tri-captain Heath Walden (Scituate, Mass./Boston College High), freshman Brian Badala (San Anselmo/Drake), Ballinger and Don Ball swam to a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.22.

The Hoyas will host VMI, Radford and Howard on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. in McCarthy Pool.
