MIDNIGHT MADNESS

Friday the 13th. A term usually associated with bad luck and horror movies. But this year, Friday the 13th will be remembered as the day that the Nightmare on F Street began for the rest of the BIG EAST.

Midnight Madness (October 13, 2006; 8 pm, McDonough Gym; free but limited space) will be the kickoff for a great year in Hoya Hoops. Those of you who have made your Hoop Club donations and ordered your season tickets know that, attendance-wise, this should be a big year for the Hoyas. With record Hoop Club membership and tons of positive press on the Boys in Blue and Gray, Verizon Center will be the place to be this basketball season. Hoop Club members remember as we progress through the season: Your contributions help to make this program a success. Hoya Hoop Club members help provide Coach Thompson with the tools and support he needs to do his thing. So yes, though you won't make one basket this year, rest assured you are a part of the Hoyas' success!

As hoops season gears up again, pray for success and health, and make sure you get your donations in early and order your tickets. Know when and where the Hoop Club game watches are in your home city. Road trip when you can. Get to McDonough early.

And remind your other BIG EAST buddies and co-workers: Be afraid.

"Hoya Paranoia II: The Return of Fear" begins October 13 at an arena near you.
