The Georgetown University men's basketball will play Syracuse on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals at Madison Square Garden. The game will be shown on ESPN and can be heard locally on SportsTalk 980 AM.

Green & Cook, Bowman's Clutch Free Throws Carry Georgetown Past Marquette ... Georgetown sophomore forward Jeff Green and senior guard Ashanti Cook scored 16 points apiece and senior forward Brandon Bowman added 14 points - including an 8-of-8 performance from the free throw line - to lift the Hoyas to a 62-59 over Marquette on Thursday afternoon ... Green led the Hoyas in points, rebounds (9) and assists (5), connecting on 6-of-13 shots from the field ... Bowman scored 14 points and hit all eight of his free throw attempts in the final 2:34 and six in the final 37.7 seconds to seal the win.
About the Hoyas ... Head Coach John Thompson III mentored the Hoyas to a 19-13 record in his first year at the helm of the Hoyas, improving on the 13-15 finish of the previous season ...
