Freshman pitcher Courtney Clark (Ridgewood, N.J./Choate Rosemary Hall) pitched four innings for 13 hits and 11 runs.

In the fourth inning, the Bison broke through scoring two runs en route to the 9-2 victory. Howard would score another pair in the fourth inning, increasing the lead to four.
With sophomore Brittany Sonnichsen (Madison, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) already on first base, senior Lauren Camp (West Bloomfield, Mich./Detroit Country Day) singled to third base, advancing Sonnichsen to second. A single from sophomore pitcher Anna Wheatley (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands/Antilles) would load the bases for Georgetown. Sophomore Christine Calabrese (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hastings) grounded out to the shortstop allowing Sonnichsen to score the first run of the game for GU.
The seventh inning saw the Bison score an additional five runs to expand the lead to 8-1. In the bottom of the seventh, Richter struck her third hit of the day with a single and advanced to second on an error from the third baseman. A double from Sonnichsen brought Richter home to score the second run for Georgetown.
Wheatley pitched seven innings for 12 hits and nine runs.
"Radford is an excellent team," Head Coach Pat Conlan said. "They're having a great year and we were just outmatched today. We had a good outing in the first five of seven innings against Howard - but we let down in the last two innings. One of our goals is to play with a bit more consistency - to play good softball for seven straight innings."
The Hoyas return to the field tomorrow, March 26 for the second day of the 2006 Highlander Softball Classic. They face the Longwood Lancers at 10 a.m. and will play a team as yet to be determined at noon.
