Softball Falls to Butler 9-1

Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's softball team dropped a 9-1 decision to visiting Butler in five innings on Saturday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Sports Complex. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 15-18 overall and 8-9 in BIG EAST play. The Bulldogs improve to 18-17 overall and 10-7 in league play.
 
Hoya Highlights How it Happened
  • After a pair of scoreless innings, Georgetown struck first with Rebhan's homer to left center in the bottom of the third.
  • Butler's offense exploded in the top of the next inning, scoring nine unanswered runs to trigger the run rule after five.
Butler Notes
  • Eight different Bulldogs logged a hit, including a three-RBI home run from Makena Alexander.
  • Rylyn Dyer (4-3) earned the win with 2 1/3 innings of relief work, allowing just one hit.
Up Next
The Hoyas remain home and host Butler on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the rubber game of the BIG EAST series at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex in the District.
