Box Score WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's softball team dropped a 9-1 decision to visiting Butler in five innings on Saturday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Sports Complex. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 15-18 overall and 8-9 in BIG EAST play. The Bulldogs improve to 18-17 overall and 10-7 in league play.
 
Hoya Highlights

• Georgetown registered three hits in the game including a solo home run from Brooke Rebhan.
• Emily Strittmatter went 1-for-2 while Abby Kozo chipped in a pinch hit single in her only at bat of the day.
• Marina Egbert (4-5) took the loss in the circle.

How it Happened

• After a pair of scoreless innings, Georgetown struck first with Rebhan's homer to left center in the bottom of the third.
• Butler's offense exploded in the top of the next inning, scoring nine unanswered runs to trigger the run rule after five.

Butler Notes

• Eight different Bulldogs logged a hit, including a three-RBI home run from Makena Alexander.
• Rylyn Dyer (4-3) earned the win with 2 1/3 innings of relief work, allowing just one hit.
