Meet the Hall of Famers

March 6, 2006

As the oldest intercollegiate sport on the Hilltop, Georgetown baseball has withstood many attempts
by Hoya student-athletes to leave their mark in its record books. From 1980 to 1983, the
extraordinary accomplishments of one such player helped to rewrite many of those records.

Kurt Kaull set nine single-season and career records in his four years on the baseball diamond.
He remains the all-time leader for most base hits in a season with 86 and total bases in a
season with 139. As a freshman, Kurt batted .406 for the Hoyas. By his senior season,
Kurt was one of the top collegiate hitters in the nation.

Kurt accomplished all this in addition to meeting the demands of playing on the championship-caliber
basketball team for four years. Further recognition of his talent came when the St. Louis
Cardinals selected Kurt in the 8th round of the Major League Baseball draft.

In recognition of his achievements and outstanding contribution to
Georgetown baseball, the name of

Kurtis Kaull, C'83

is permanently inscribed in the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame
among the names of the greatest athletes in the history of the University.

Given this day, the twelfth of May, in the year of 2000.
