Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown men's tennis team clinched a tight match against Delaware at the McDonough Tennis Complex today. The Hoyas improve to 6-10 on the season with a 4-3 victory today.
Having lost the doubles point, the Hoyas relied on a strong singles performance to win the match. Senior Eric Conrad (Gloucester, Mass./St. John's Prep) won a three-set match at the first singles position for the first of the four GU points. Sophomore Etienne Paris (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) and junior Kevin Killeavy (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla./Melbourne Central Catholic) followed shortly, both also winning in three sets.
With the match tied at three, the fate of the match rested on the shoulders of freshman Kenneth Wong (Repulse Bay, Hong Kong/St. Paul's [N.H.]). Wong won with a convincing score of 6-2, 6-3, clinching the match for the Hoyas.
