Last Tuesday, the National Park Service, a federal agency, held an open house to share the results of their recently completed Environmental Assessment (EA) and to encourage interested parties to submit their comments in writing to the Park Service. Over 130 boathouse advocates, including current and former Hoya rowers and coaches, turned out to demonstrate their unflagging support for this long-standing project.

Kevin Brandt, Superintendent of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, and Richard Dorrier, a principal with EDAW, Inc., who directed this environmental impact assessment for the National Park Service, spoke briefly about the EA and the comment process. The remainder of the open house allowed attendees to review visual and analytical information and to question Park Service representatives on hand.
