DaJuan Summers Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University sophomore forward DaJuan Summers (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced this morning by the offices in Providence, R.I. Summers is the first Hoya player to receive the honor this season.

Last Wednesday, Summers led Georgetown to a 70-60 win over Alabama, as he scored a career high 18 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Summers also tied senior center Roy Hibbert (Adelphi, Md./Georgetown Prep) for a team-high nine rebounds.

Summers is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.9 points per game to go with 6.4 rebounds. The 6-8, 241 lb. forward has scored in double figures in each of the last three games and five of seven games this season.

Marquette's junior guard Dominic James was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Notre Dame's sophomore forward Luke Harangody, Pittsburgh's junior forward Sam Young, Villanova sophomore guard Scottie Reynolds and West Virginia junior guard Alex Ruoff joined Summers on the Weekly Honor Roll.

The Hoyas take the floor again on Saturday, December 15 against Radford at McDonough Arena with tip off slated for 7:30p.m.
