Wednesday Morning, 6:03 a.m. Eastern (that's 3:03 a.m. Pacific for those keeping score at home). Atlanta, Ga.
Our starting 5 just arrived in Atlanta after an amazing short flight from Northern California. Somehow we made it cross country in under 4 hours. Not sure how this happened, but we have only about an hour and a half of sleep under our belts. We're now sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting for our flight to B'ham. We've been shoveling as much caffeine into our systems as possible after getting turned down when asking for a Bloody Mary. Apparently it's the law at Atlanta Airport that they can't serve alcohol until 9:00 a.m. Either that, or they didn't like the look of Neil.
We spent breakfast talking through an approach to make sure we experience as much barbeque as possible while in Alabama. We also talked about the hotel we're staying at - the historic Redmont. Apparently, it was once a brothel and was also the place where Hank Williams spent his last night, drinking at the bar, before dying the next morning. We hope to have better luck than Hank. We're boarding the flight now to Birmingham. See you in the Magic City.
