Spann Leaves Georgetown

May 9, 2007

Washington DC - Georgetown University Men's Basketball Head Coach John Thompson III announced today that Octavius Spann is transferring to another (as yet unspecified) school. "Tay and his family have discussed this and determined this is best for him. While were sorry to lose an individual of Tay's caliber, and will miss his contribution behind the scenes, we understand that the young man must do what he feels is in his best interest. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Spann, a 6-6, 220 0lb., sophomore forward from College Park, Georgia appeared in 16 contests this season, averaging 2.3 minutes per outing. In two years he played in 22 games, averaging 0.9 points and 0.7 rebounds per contest.
