Washington, D.C. - Junior Jeff Green has not withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft. He has re-confirmed the decision announced May 23 that he will forgo his senior season at Georgetown.
Green, a 6-9, 235 lb. forward from Hyattsville Md., earned All American honors and was named BIG EAST Player of the Year, Most Outstanding Player of the BIG EAST Tournament and Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA East Regional during the 2006-07 season, leading the Hoyas to a 30-7 record and to the Final Four.
The Hoyas co-captain led the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game, and was second in both rebounding (6.4) and assists (3.2).
This season he set career highs in both scoring (30 pts vs Notre Dame in the BIG EAST Tournament) and blocks (8 at Villanova 2/17/07) while tying his personal best in both rebounds (12 vs Boston College in the NCAA tournament) and assists (7 at Pittsburgh 1/13/07).
Green is currently 17th in Georgetown's 1,000 point club with 1,339 pts, 16th on Georgetown's all time rebound leader list with 664 boards and 12th on GU's all time assist leader list with 319.
