Meet the Hall of Famers

September 19, 2007










When a tall and talented freshman from Stamford, Connecticut arrived on the Hilltop in 1984,Georgetown volleyball
was changing and growing fast. Adapting and persevering, Justine Metz led her teammates through the
transition to new coaches and to more challenging Big East conference play.

Justine was the dominant player at the net during her playing career. In both her junior and senior years, she set the
Georgetown record for most blocks in a single season with 92. Justine led her team as a senior to a 22-10 record
and a second place finish at the Big East Conference championship.

A team captain in both her junior and senior years, Justine is the all-time leader in blocks at Georgetown with 254. She was
named most valuable player in each of her final two seasons. Majoring in marketing, Justine earned Academic All-America
recognition for her outstanding performance in the classroom and on the court.

In recognition of her record-breaking achievements and outstanding
contribution to Georgetown volleyball, the name of

Justine M. Metz B'88

is permanently inscribed in the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame
among the names of the greatest athletes in the history of the University.
