Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson III

On tonight's lopsided win:
"It is hard during the course of the game, it is even hard sitting here now, at least for me, for it to feel lopsided. I have been a part of a lot of games where you start to feel everything is going to be okay and then they start to make a run. Our guys did a great job of staying focused and just executing on the other end of the floor because they have a team that is going to make runs."

More on tonight's game:
"We are comfortable in tight situations. Obviously you much rather have a situation like today. As a coach you much rather have this game than a tight game coming down to the last possession."

On the team's defense:
"I think our guys were extremely attentive tonight in terms of helping each other and understanding what they were trying to accomplish. I thought our guys did a terrific job of communicating and helping each other and they (St. John's) had some unfortunate bounces."

On guarding Anthony Mason Jr:
"We wanted to give him different looks and put different people on him. Our guys did a good job but it was just a bad day for them."

On Vernon Macklin:
"Obviously he put points on the board. It was one of those situations that we found out this afternoon, that DaJuan (Summers) wasn't going to be able to play. Vernon has been working extremely hard. As a Coach, as a staff and as a team we are comfortable with Vernon being out there. Obviously he was playing with Roy (Hibbert). What he did out there was not a surprise."

On DaJuan Summers:
"Our medical staff said this morning that they didn't think it was best for him to play."

Jessie Sapp
Thoughts on St. John's scoring troubles:
"I play for Georgetown. As long as we are up, I don't really feel (bad) about it. Those guys are tough. They are going to come back. We just needed to get the W."

On St. John's:
"They are a BIG EAST team and this conference is tough. When they didn't make a run I was surprised."

Jeremiah Rivers
On tonight's game:
"Coach has been preaching all week to do the things that we do and stop them from making runs. We were expecting them to make a run but at the same time we weren't expecting them to make a run."
