Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Brown University in Providence, R.I., on Wednesday for a 7 p.m., matchup at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Hoyas are currently 1-0 on the year after defeating Jacksonville State in the season opener on Sunday. This is the first time since the 2005-06 season that GU won its first game of the season.
Wednesday marks the second meeting between the two squads. Last season, Georgetown defeated Brown 65-46 at McDonough Arena. Jaleesa Butler (St. Louis, Mo./Alton) led the Hoyas with 19 points and Kieraah Marlow posted 15 rebounds. Brown is looking for its first win of the season after losses to BIG EAST member Providence and Quinnipiac.
