Thanksgiving Photo Gallery
Washington, D.C. - In the first tournament of the season we are off to LA, the city of dreams, shopping, stars, and HOLLYWOOD! Besides coming here to win games, we also had some time to see they city.
After an early Thanksgiving breakfast we had a couple of hours to explore Hollywood; it was a fun experience for the team and we are grateful for the opportunity that was given to us. We started our tour from the hotel, and the bus driver amused us with his skills as a tour guide as we passed famous buildings, houses and streets. We were all excited to see the famous "Hollywood" sign located on the hilltop and the house without windows where Marilyn Monroe and JFK "discussed politics".
As we were driving closer to Hollywood everyone was taking pictures, and Adria Crawford was using her camera to snap pictures of ...everything. The most exciting part of the tour for me and Amanda Reese was Rodeo Drive with all expensive stores where you have to book an appointment in order to shop, they are that expensive. Unfortunately, the only shopping we did were window-shopping from the bus!
Our first and only stop was on Hollywood Boulevard; we went up numerous flights of stairs to get closer to the Hollywood sign where we all posed in front of the cameras with smiles and laughter. We had one hour to walk around, and most of the girls used the time to take pictures with famous characters such as Batman and Robin, Snow White, Captain Jack Sparrow, Mickey Mouse and others. We did not run into any real movie stars on the Boulevard, however we stepped on the world's most famous sidewalk: The Hollywood Walk of Fame. The legendary sidewalk "stars" salute the celebrities who made Hollywood great!
After a good practice to get ready for our first game on Friday, we had a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner that we all appreciated very much. It was not only a chance to dress up and be together, but it was also a deep bonding experience, which took us one step closer as a team. We did not have the chance to be with our respective families on this special day, however aside from our family, we are a FAMILY.
