Louisville pre-game blog
When I think of Louisville, all I can think of is that angry red bird. Man, he's angry. I honestly think one of the reasons he's been so angry this past year stems from the Bay Area's road trip last year. We arrived at Freedom Hall with signs, decked out in blue and gray Hoyas garb. As you might remember, it was "Denny Crum" night at the arena. They were dedicating the court to him and his career that evening. And approximately 20,000 Cardinals fans, decked out in a sea of red, were planning on a victory. As you probably know, they left extremely disappointed, and the 15 Hoya fans that sat behind the bench that night didn't help matters. Our signs included the following:

- Hey Pattino! Patrick Ewing Just Walked Through That Door!
- Jon Wallace - Road Scholar
- Jeff Green's Mom has Got it Goin' On
To say we were "unpopular" would be a major lie. Especially when one in our party would constantly yell at opposing fans when provoked, "What? I can't hear you. The scoreboard is too loud." Yeah, you can imagine the spectacle.
Looking back at last year's season, this was really the game that turned around the season for me. During the game, I always felt we were in control, and that's how I continued to feel until that fateful Saturday in April.

Having opportunities such as this game to celebrate with other Hoyas is the best part of being associated with Georgetown basketball. Not only we six of us able to make this road trip, but we continued on to D.C. For the Marquette and West Virginia games. And let me make one thing clear. None of us knew each other at Georgetown. Our ages differ up to 8 years. However, we've been able to form and maintain a bond of friendship that's both unique and extremely meaningful while being totally fun. In fact, our group has now taken over the leadership of the GU Club of Northern California and been able to rejuvenate the Hoya Spirit in the area.

So that beings us to Saturday's game. Out here, we're more than used to the typical 9:00 a.m. start and in fact, grown to love it. Who doesn't like a bloody mary and a special breakfast while watching a little Hoya Hoops? But this game happens to air at an astonishing 6:00pm ! We're expecting more than 100 Hoya fans at our official bar, The Bus Stop. We've organized drink specials and giveaways. Should be a great time.
I'll leave you with this bit of advice. Roy - if you get the ball down low, dunk that ball!!!
