WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown women's tennis team (5-10, 2-4 BIG EAST) fell in a close match to University of Connecticut, 4-3 halting the Hoyas two-match winning streak on Saturday at the McDonough Tennis Complex.

GU surrendered the doubles point, as the Huskies top two doubles pairs were able to hold off the Hoyas. Freshmen Maxi Thiels (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School) and Caroline Kuehn (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) were able to defeat UConn's No. 3 pair, 8-6, but the point still belonged to the Huskies.

Senior Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) cruised past Kelley LoRosso, 6-1, 6-0 in the top singles match to tie the score, but UConn's BreAnn Cheung was the next off the court, defeating senior Liz Winokur (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman), 7-5, 6-2.

Junior Courtney Olsen (Englewood, Colo./Colorado Academy) evened the score with a win over Emily Herb in the second singles spot, but back-to-back UConn victories in the Fourth and fifth singles matches clinched the match and snapped the Hoyas two-match win streak.

Freshman Alex Sebia (Plains, Pa./Scranton Prep) won her third consecutive match in the sixth singles position, defeating Alison Koch in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
