WASHINGTON, D.C. - ESPNU Campus Connection students from Georgetown University have scheduled 48 hours of television programming for ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, from July 7 -8. A team of four journalism students worked with the ESPNU programming staff to develop a schedule devoted to their school. The schedule will primarily feature a number of men's basketball games spanning from 1983-2008 in addition to some men's and women's lacrosse and sailing.
The following students worked together to plan and create the ESPNU schedule: Nick Sementelli (Dallas, Texas); Bridget Geraghty (Chicago, Ill.); Paul Campbell (Chehalis, Wash.); and Peter Keszler (Bethesda, Md.). Each student is intended to graduate in 2009.
Working with students, professors and athletic departments, ESPNU Campus Connection incorporates student-generated content across multiple ESPN platforms. The first major Campus Connection student-run initiative involved students from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), who assisted with producing a men's basketball telecast on Jan. 9.
The other schools participating: Florida State University, University of Georgia, University of Missouri, University of North Carolina, Ohio University, Pepperdine University, Syracuse University, University of Tennessee, University of Texas (Austin) and Texas Southern University.
