Women's Basketball Adds Davis to Coaching Staff

Sept. 12, 2008

Washington, D.C. - Head Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy announced Friday that Ashley Davis has been hired as an assistant coach. She begins her first season with the Hoyas joining the staff after an outstanding playing career that led to the coaching field.

Davis served one season as the head JV coach and varsity assistant at Western Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas where she mentored the guards developing shooting form, ball handling and passing fundamentals. Davis also ran a summer tournament and shooting clinic for high-school aged athletes.

The San Antonio, Texas native was a stand-out guard and four-year letter winner at Texas Christian University. She was also a two-time all-conference honoree. Davis ranks second in TCU's all-time record books in both career three's and free throw percentage. She graduated with a bachelor's in business administration in 2005 and a Master's in educational administration in 2007. While at TCU, Davis was also an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was employed as a substitute teacher during graduate school.

"Ashley is a great, young, up-and-coming coach. She is extremely hungry and willing to work very hard," said Flournoy. "Her focus at Georgetown will include recruitment, coaching the guards and posts, scouting, conditioning and practices in addition to student-athlete matriculation and campus life for the team members and alumni events."
