WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown University Head Coach John Thompson III announced that assistant coach Kenya Hunter has not been with the team as a result of emergency surgery over the weekend. Kenya's return date has not yet been determined.
Coach Hunter had hip replacement surgery done last summer and has experienced problems in the last couple of weeks. "Kenya is recuperating and our thoughts and prayers are with him," Thompson said.
Hunter is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Hoyas, who are 10-3 overall and ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and No. 10 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches' poll.
