All Sports Auction Contract
Dear Georgetown Athletics supporters, former student-athletes, and friends:
In February 2010, Hoyas Unlimited will launch a unique fund-raising opportunity through an on-line, all-sports auction. We are attempting to surpass our 2008-09 record-setting year of just over $4.4 million in gifts received. The gifts came from more than 5,300 donors, an increase of more than 400 donors from 2007-08. A sincere thank you is extended to all donors.
The online auction will offer Georgetown alumni and friends all over the country the opportunity to donate and bid on unique memorabilia, exclusive trips, and unforgettable fan experiences. All proceeds of the auction will benefit the Georgetown Athletics Excellence Fund, which supports more than 700 student athletes participating in 29 intercollegiate athletic programs on the Hilltop. The fund contributes to the top three strategic priorities within athletics: scholarships, facility needs, and program expenses.
In order to have a successful auction, we need your help in acquiring auction items. Please consider making a contribution. Do you have sports memorabilia you're willing to donate? Can you arrange for dinner at a popular restaurant, a stay at a vacation resort, an outing with a celebrity, or a round of golf at an exclusive club? All donations, large or small, are greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate, please fill out the attached form and return it to the listed address. Please be sure that the expiration date on the form is in February 2011. In addition, all items must be shippable (no perishables or alcohol). The value of each donated item can be allocated to the sport of your choice and is deductible in accordance with applicable laws. Please submit all forms by February 1, 2010.
