Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's soccer team had three players named All-Northeast Region by the National Soccer Coaches of America. Kelly D'Ambrisi (Trumbull, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy), Sara Jordan (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) and Ingrid Wells (Upper Montclair, N.J./Montclair) were all named to the Second Team. The three selections is an all-time best for the Hoya women's soccer program.
D'Ambrisi was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, a notch above her third-team slot last year. The midfielder had a solid sophomore season, finishing with four goals, seven assists and 15 points for the Blue & Gray. In fact, three of her goals were game-winners, tops on the team. Her seven assists tied her for third in the conference. D'Ambrisi moved into the top 20 all-time at GU in points scored this season and is two assists away from cracking the top 10 in that category.
Jordan recently earned co-BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors and was a TopDrawerSoccer.com Honorable Mention All-American. She totaled 15 points, including five goals during conference play and tied for the league lead with 15 points and 1.36 points per game. She also tied for second in the BIG EAST with five assists and tied for third with five goals. During the season, Jordan set school all-time records for goals (27), assists (26) and points (80). She totaled 23 points overall this season, including eight goals and was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll twice.
Wells, a TopDrawerSoccer.com Honorable Mention All-American, ECAC Division I Women's Soccer All-Star and BIG EAST first-team selection, lead the Hoyas with 11 assists and 25 points this season. Those totals ranked her first and second overall in the BIG EAST for those respective categories. Her point total matched her output from her freshman campaign, one shy of the single-season school record of 26 set by Jessie Beers-Altman in 2002. Wells will head into her junior season ranked second all-time in assists and eighth all-time in points at Georgetown.
