The Georgetown University women's rowing team finished fourth at the BIG EAST Rowing Championships over the weekend on the Cooper River in Pensauken, N.J. The Hoyas finished with 85 points, behind Notre Dame (112), Syracuse (97), Louisville (92). GU earned five medals at this year's BIG EAST Championships an improvement from two a year ago.
Georgetown earned bronze in the varsity eight grand final with a boat made up of cox Juliana Pugilese, stroke Erin Landy, Alex Vezina, Liz Stanowski, Jade-Isis Lefebvre, Morgan McGovern, Sydney LeGuyander, Bridget Roddy and bow Laura Donaldson. The finished behind Louisville and Notre Dame in 6:39.289. Georgetown's novice fours earned a silver medal finishing in a time of 8:12.602 behind Notre Dame and in front of Syracuse.
In the women's second varsity four finals the Hoyas boat consisting of cox Kat Christian, Taylor Dana, Anika DeVolder, Margi Emhoff and bow Kaitlin Roe earned a bronze medal finishing in a time of 8:16.254, behind Notre Dame and Syracuse.
In the novice eight grand final Georgetown earned a bronze medal with a boat consisting of cox Jules McLaughlin, Lindsey Barrington, Bre Donald, Maggie Girard, Angela Nelson, Claire McKinley, Isabel Aguirre-Kelly Alison Bae and bow Julia Camargo. GU finished behind Syracuse and Notre Dame in 7:16.783.
In the varsity four grand final Georgetown's boat consisting of cox Danielle Valle Fitzgerald, Mimi Inuzuka, Meg Ginivan, Melissa Horne and bow Lili Meyers earned a bronze medal in 7:47.395, finishing behind Notre Dame and Syracuse.
The Hoyas novice four placed second in the Grand Finals with a boat consisting of cox Stephanie Joyal, stroke Jackie Fogarty, Kate Finnerty, Maggie Guzikowski and Katherine Farrell. GU finished in 8:12.602, less than a tenth-of-a-second behind first place Syracuse.
