Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's tennis team was unable to capture their first BIG EAST win of the season, falling to Syracuse, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Army-Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va. The Hoya highlight came when Maxi Thiels and Caroline Kuehn defeated Emily Harman and Christina Tan at the No. 1 doubles spot, 9-7.
Alex Sebia and Aileen Shea fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-4, and the duo of Briana Kearney and Michelle Brown lost 8-2 at the No. 3 pairing.
Syracuse swept the six singles matches as Lacey Herchek and Sebia each won eight games apiece, tops for the Hoyas yesterday.
The Hoyas will now play at Villanova on Sunday afternoon. Matches are slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
