Game Notes

WASHINGTON - The No. 24/18 Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the University of Louisville Cardinals (10-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) on Saturday for a BIG EAST matchup at McDonough Arena. The Hoyas are 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in BIG EAST play riding a 13-game win streak. The game will be televised on the BIG EAST Network and MASN with Beth Mowins calling the game and Brooke Weisbrod as the color analyst.

The Blue & Gray defeated the Providence College Friars, 74-62, on Tuesday in GU's BIG EAST home opener. Freshman Ta'Shauna "Sugar" Rodgers (Suffolk, Va./King's Fork) led the way with 26 points and three assists, while junior Monica McNutt (Suitland, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) had 15 points and three steals. Tia Magee (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) also added 13 points and five rebounds in the victory.

Georgetown's 13-game win streak ties the program record set in 1980. The Hoyas have already earned national recognition this season with their first ranking in 13 years as well as leading the nation in steals per game (15.3) and in turnover margin (10.5).

Louisville is 10-6 on the season, and 2-1 in BIG EAST play. In their last outing, the Cardinals defeated Providence, 67-48. Louisville is led by Becky Burke and Monique Reid who are averaging 15.7 and 15.6 ppg each, respectively. Reid also averages 8.9 rebounds per game. The Cardinals were last season's national runners-up falling to Connecticut in the 2009 NCAA National Championship.

Georgetown is 0-4 all-time against the Cardinals dating back to Louisville joining the BIG EAST in 2005. Georgetown has lost to the Cardinals twice at home including last year's 74-58 decision. In that game Angel McCoughtry led the then-No. 7/11 Cardinals with 28 points. Karee Houlette posted 15 points for the Hoyas. Georgetown's closest loss was in 2007 at home when the Hoyas fell 57-54.

The game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Network which can be seen locally on MASN and on SportsNet New York for fans with DirecTV. It will be available online on ESPN360.com for all students on campus and Hoya fans with select internet service providers. Finally, a free webcast will be streamed online live at www.BIGEAST.com.

Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at McDonough Arena. Live stats and an audio broadcast featuring Drew Wiseman will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
