WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team fell to Delaware 183-107 on Saturday October 9 at the Rawstrom Natatorium. The Hoyas earned victories in nine of the last 10 events of the meet.
After being swept in the meets first three events, Paul Quincy earned a victory for the Hoyas, winning the men's 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 9:38.75. Quincy also earned a victory in the men's 500 yard freestyle in a time of 4:41.61.
Sam Kietlinski won the women's 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.36.
Caitlin Karniski earned first place finishes in the one meter diving event and the three meter diving event scoring 219.45 in the one meter and 236.70 in the three meter event.
The Hoyas finished the meet in strong form, as Megan Harvey, Kristen Pratt and Betsy Weston swept the women's 100 yard butterfly. Victor Lopez-Cantera, Greg Germain and Trevor Kosmo swept the men's 100 yard butterfly, with Lopez-Cantera finishing in 52.21 to lead the way.
The Blue & Gray also swept the 200 yard individual medley on the men's and women's sides, as Lauren Opatrny, Allison Fulenwider and Rosemary Christian swept the women's race, while Christian Kilgore, Trevor Kosmo, Alex Hanson and Brad Murray took the top four spots in the men's race.
Georgetown's 400 yard freestyle relay "A" team of Kietlinski, Mallory Kiplinger, Michelle Konkoly and Alexandra Van Nispen earned a victory, while the men's "A" team of Brad Crist, Matthew Mandel, Spencer Walsh and Kilgore captured a victory in the men's race.
The Hoyas return to action on Saturday, October 23 as they compete at Towson against the Tigers and East Carolina beginning at 9 a.m.
