BETHLEHEM, Pa. - BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Georgetown University men's tennis team turned in a strong performance winning the doubles point before David Tillem, Charlie Caris, Will Lowell, Andrew Bruhn and Rafael Notario each captured singles points in the Hoyas 6-1 victory over Bucknell on Friday evening.
Bruhn and Bryan Miller took the first doubles match in dominant fashion, defeating Anton Kovic and Gregg Cohenca, 8-1. David Tillem and Caris came off the court next, defeating Zach Hascoe and Josh Katten, 8-5 to clinch the doubles point. Lowell and Anthony Tan fought back from a 5-0 deficit in second doubles to earn a 9-7 victory for Georgetown.
Caris and Lowell were the first two players finished in singles play, as Caris defeated Kelly Morque 6-3, 6-2 in the third spot, while Lowell won 6-2, 6-2 over Clark Bogle in the fourth spot. Tillem earned a victory in the second spot coming back from 4-0 in the first set and cruising in the second for a final of 7-5, 6-3. Andrew Bruhn clinched the match defeating Katten in a highly contested, 7-5, 6-4 match.
After dropping the first set, Rafael Notario took control over the next two sets to earn a win in the sixth spot, defeating Hascoe 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Anthony Tan fell in the hard fought top singles spot by super tie breaker to Anton Kovic, 6-2, 5-7, 11-9.
