PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Georgetown University men's tennis team fell to University of Pennsylvania, 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Levy Pavilion. The Hoyas fall to 4-3 with the loss the Quakers, halting a two-match winning streak.
The Quakers swept doubles play, with the Hoyas top duo of Andrew Bruhn and Bryan Miller lasting the longest, falling 8-6 to Eugen Brazdil and Phil Law.
After falling 6-4 in the first set of the No. 2 singles match, David Tillem responded by winning the second set 6-0. He was unable to keep the momentum in the third, falling 6-3 to drop the match to Adam Schwartz.
Charlie Caris also dropped his first set 6-4 in the No. 5 singles match. Caris was able to capture the second set, 6-3 before falling by super tiebreaker in the third set 10-7.
The Hoyas fell in two sets in the first, third, fourth and sixth singles matches in the 7-0 loss to Penn.
The Blue and Gray return to the court on March 5, when they travel to Charlottesville, Va. to take on the Virginia Cavaliers.
