WASHINGTON - On February 20th, Hoyas Unlimited and the Spiked Shoe Club hosted a reception at the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships. After the first day of competition coaches, alumni, and family gathered in the Hall of Fame Trophy Room to share memories and catch up with old friends.
The event also marked a chance to honor special guest Raymond Humphrey (C'87, L'94). Ray received the Spiked Shoe Club Community Service Award from Director of Track and Field, Pat Henner and Spiked Shoe Club President Meghan Dotter (F'94).
Humphrey was thankful for the award and encouraged the attendants to continue growing the great family that is Georgetown Track and Field as well as the importance of supporting the current Hoyas.
Also in attendance were previous head coaches, Joe Lang and Frank Gagliano (Gags). Henner thanked both of them for attending and for all of their efforts in putting Georgetown Track and Field on the map.
President of the Spiked Shoe Club, Meghan Dotter, also thanked everyone for attending and encouraged all of everyone to continue to give back to the program.
The Spiked Shoe Club set a fundraising record last year and is on pace so far this year to surpass that record.
