WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team earned the doubles point and then got singles victories from Anthony Tan, Bryan Miller, Will Lowell and Charlie Caris, as they defeated Williams College, 5-2 at the McDonough Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Andrew Bruhn and Miller got the Hoyas started off with a victory at No. 1 doubles and the duo of Tillem and Caris defeated Jeremy Weinberger and Felix Sun, 8-3 to clinch the doubles point at third singles.
Williams neutralized the point, taking the top singles match quickly, but the Hoyas would rattle off the next four points, getting victory at second, third, fourth and sixth, all in straight sets.
Tan dispatched of Weinberger, 6-3, 6-0 to earn a victory at second singles and Miller battled Sun to win third singles 6-4, 7-6. Lowell defeated Will Petrie 6-4, 6-2 and Caris, after winning a close 7-6 first set over Bryan Chow, cruised in the second set to win 6-3.
Tim Walsh and Rafael Notario also earned victories in exhibition matches for the Hoyas, who return to the court on Sunday against BIG EAST rival St. John's.
