WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team had another come-from-behind victory this weekend getting the 4-3 victory over the University of Connecticut Huskies Saturday afternoon at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex. The Hoyas were trailing after doubles play, but had some gutsy performances in singles to edge the Huskies and move to 9-11 on the season.

The No. 3 pair of David Tillem (Atlanta, Ga./The Weber School) and Charlie Caris (Des Moines, Iowa/Theodore Roosevelt) were the lone doubles winners forcing a tiebreaker to earn the 8-7 (6) victory.

In singles play, No. 2 Tillem tied it up 6-3, 6-3 and Will Lowell (Nahant, Mass./Saddlebrook Prep (Fla.)) put GU ahead at No. 4 winning 6-3, 6-4. The Huskies countered, but No. 5 Andrew Bruhn (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) gave Georgetown the advantage with a three-set win 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 to keep his win streak going.

The Hoyas had two players remaining and needed one more point to get the victory. The squad got that from No. 1 Anthony Tan (Jakarta, Indonesia/Anglo-Chinese Junior College) who downed his opponent 6-3, 6-4 for the win and to give Georgetown the 4-3 victory.

Georgetown will host Navy in its final scheduled match of the regular season on Wednesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
