WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Men's Basketball Coach John Thompson III announced today that freshman forward Aaron Bowen (Jacksonville, Fla./QEA [N.C.]) will miss the remainder of the 2010-11 season after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder today.
"Aaron's recurring shoulder injury has hampered him the entire season," Thompson said. "After advice from our medical staff and discussion with Aaron's family, we felt it was necessary to do this procedure now. He had surgery today and we look forward to having him back on the floor after completing his rehabilitation."
Bowen is averaging 1.1 points and 0.6 rebounds. At the appropriate time, Georgetown will petition the BIG EAST Conference for a medical hardship waiver for him to regain a season of eligibility.
