WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team posted its first win of the season on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over the Bucknell University Bison in Lewisburg, Pa. The Hoyas dominated the match to move to 1-6 on the season.
The Hoyas picked up the doubles point as Michael Clarke and Andrew Bruhn won at No. 1, 8-3. GU also got the victory at No. 2 with an 8-1 win by Charlie Caris and Bryan Miller.
In singles play, Clarke was victorious at No. 1 by a score of 6-2, 6-2 and Caris followed winning 6-2, 6-4. At No. 3, Bruhn lost the first set, but battled to get the final two winning 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Rounding out the scoring was Brian Ward at No. 5 and Casey Distaso at No. 6 as the Hoyas came away with the victory.
Georgetown will be back in action on Wednesday, March 9 as the squad takes on Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla.
