WASHINGTON - The eighth-seeded Georgetown women's tennis team (12-9) fell in the second round of the BIG EAST Tournament, 4-0, to the top-seeded University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday. The Hoyas have now moved into the consolation bracket competing for fifth, sixth and seventh place.
The Irish picked up the early doubles point winning at No. 2 and No. 3.
Moving into singles play, UND downed the Blue & Gray at No. 6 and 5, before clinching the match at No. 2 as junior Lauren Greco fell 6-1, 6-4.
The Hoyas will fourth-seeded Louisville on Saturday at 9 a.m., in the consolation bracket for fifth, sixth and seventh places.
