WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team competed at the Virginia Commonwealth University 4+1 this past weekend. The Hoyas fell to the host Rams, 4-1, and had their match against the University of Pennsylvania canceled. It marked the first competition of the spring for the Blue & Gray.
Georgetown's lone victory came in the No. 1 singles match as senior Lauren Greco continued where she left off in the fall defeating Alex Bara from VCU who is ranked by the ITA. Greco dropped the first set, 6-1, but battled back to win the next two 6-3, 6-4.
The Blue & Gray will be back in action next weekend in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., against Liberty University of Friday and James Madison University on Saturday.
