WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team will face the Xavier Musketeers in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals on Friday, April 18 at the Cayce Fitness and Tennis Center in Cayce, South Carolina. The Hoyas are coming off of a 4-2 win over No. 10 Marquette in the BIG EAST Championship First Round on April 17.

ABOUT THE No. 7 HOYAS | 8-10, 4-5 BIG EAST
- The Hoyas enter Friday's match with a 8-10 record and a 4-5 mark in BIG EAST play after a 4-2 win over Marquette on Thursday morning.
- In the win, the Hoyas got wins in No.1-No.4 singles matches, with Emily Novikov (No. 1), Ashley Kennedy (No. 2), Katie Garofolo-Ro (No. 3) and Paige Gilbert (No. 4) all picking up singles wins.
- Novikov leads the Hoyas in singles wins with 11 to her credit, all in No. 1 matches while Gilbert follows closely with nine wins this spring.
- In doubles matches, the duo of Kennedy/Garofolo-Ro leads the team in doubles wins with five to their credit.
- The last time Georgetown was in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals was last season when they dropped a tight 4-3 match against No. 3 DePaul.
- Georgetown is led by Head Coach Freddy Mesmer, who is in his fourth season at the helm of the Hoyas. He is assisted by Diana Kussianova.
ABOUT THE No. 2 MUSKETEERS | 11-8, 5-1 BIG EAST
- Xavier enters Friday's match with a 11-8 record and a 5-1 mark in BIG EAST play with their most recent outing being a 7-0 win over Marquette on April 11.
- The Musketeers have won their last six matches, outscoring opponents 42-1 during the six-game winning streak.
- Five of eight Musketeers have double digit wins this spring. Emily Flowers leads the way with 15, followed by Abby Nugent (12), Madeleine Rexroat (12), Abigail Siminski (11) and Elizabeth Pendergast (10).
- In conference matches, Flowers, Nugent and Rexroat are all undefeated with 6-0 records in singles matches.
- The last time Xavier was in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals was last season when they defeated No. 8 Marquette, 4-1. The Musketeers went on to win their fifth-consecutive BIG EAST Championship over No. 2 DePaul.
