WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (9-15) will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for a 3 p.m. game against Drexel University (6-9) on Wednesday, March 14.
The Hoyas will resume play after a 1-4 outing at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament last weekend. Georgetown beat D.C. rival Howard for the second time at the tournament in Ft. Myers.
Junior catcher
Shikara Lowe (Beaverton, Ore./Jesuit) currently leads the Blue & Gray on offense, batting .403 (25-62) on the season. Lowe has had at least one hit in eight of the last eleven games, as well as a five game hitting streak beginning against Temple on March 3 and ending against UCF on March 7. The junior was named to the BIG EAST Softball Honor Roll on February 27.
Freshman pitchers
Megan Hyson (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and
Lauren O'Leary (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) have combined for 114 strikeouts so far this season, with an ERA of 2.88 and 3.14, respectively.
The Drexel Dragons are currently on a two game winning streak, with victories over Evansville and Louisiana Tech.
