WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis program (14-5) lost for the first time in eight matches, falling at Richmond 6-1. The lone Hoya to win at singles was Elizabeth Hamlin (Haverford, Pa./The Episcopal School), who won 6-4, 6-3 on court five to record her 12th dual match victory of the season.
In doubles the Spiders won on courts one and three. Madeline Jaeger (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) and Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Philips Exeter Academy) did earn a win on court two, 8-4.
In singles some tight matches just did not fall the Hoyas way. Victoria Sekely (Mississaga, Ontario/Lone Park Secondary School) lost at one after splitting sets, Comolli dropped a first set tiebreaker and Jaeger fell 7-5 in her second set.
Georgetown closes its regular season on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. against Rutgers. The match will be played at Georgetown's McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
