Georgetown's Lee Reed Selected to NACDA Executive Committee

June 21, 2013

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed was selected to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) last week during the 48th Annual NACDA Convention, held from June 13-15 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla.

NACDA, now in its 49th year, is the professional and educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,200 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention. Additionally, NACDA administers 13 professional associations, including seven for the separate business units that report directly to the athletics directors. For more information on NACDA, visit www.nacda.com.

Reed was selected to the Executive Committee along with four other athletic directors - Greg Byrne (University of Arizona), Brenda Hampton (Iowa Western Community College), Marcus Manning (Maryville University) and Jack Sullivan (County College of Morris).

During the convention, Reed was a featured panelist on the "State of Intercollegiate Athletics," along with athletic directors from TCU (Chris Del Conte), DePaul (Jean Lenti Ponsetto) and Duke (Kevin White). The athletic directors, as well as media representatives including ESPN's Jay Bilas, spoke on topics ranging from NCAA leadership to reform and student-athlete stipend as well as the impact of social media on intercollegiate athletics and where college athletics will be in the future.
