Thompson Center Construction Camera Now Live

Nov. 17, 2014
WASHINGTON - A construction camera is now live for Georgetown University fans to track the progress of the John R. Thompson Jr. Intercollegiate Athletics Center. Fans can log on HERE to see the progress 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Thompson Center is the number one capital priority in the For Generations to Come campaign and the number one campaign priority for Georgetown Athletics.

"This is not a want or a luxury, this is a necessity. It is about delivering on a promise to all students and about investing in Athletics for years to come," said Director of Athletics Lee Reed.

The Thompson Center is expected to be completed in August 2016. The $62 million project will be completely supported through philanthropy. The four-story, 144,000-square-foot Thompson Center will be constructed adjacent to McDonough Arena and include practice courts, team meeting rooms, men's and women's basketball coaches' offices, and weight-training and sports medicine rooms for all varsity athletes. The new facility will also include a Student-Athlete Academic and Leadership Center, an auditorium and team meeting facilities for varsity programs.

The camera broadcasts in color and HD and features digital zoom as well as five-megapixel resolution. It also includes live weather conditions and will have time lapses and photos available throughout the project.
