Dec. 21, 2014 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies (9-3) on Monday at McDonough Arena at 2 p.m. The Hoyas are currently 2-9 on the season and 2-2 at McDonough Arena. Admission is free to all fans.
Last week, the Hoyas fell at George Washington University on Tuesday, 72-60, and to the University of Memphis, 63-46.
Against GW, sophomore guard Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) led the way with 15 points and nine rebounds, while junior forward Dominique Vitalis (Bloomfield, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) added 14 points and six boards. Junior guard Brittany Horne (Carmel, N.Y./Carmel) rounded out those in double figures with 14 points in the contest.
In the Memphis game, Woodard once again led the way with nine points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Logan Battle (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) added eight going 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard Jade Martin (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy) pulled down a squad-best nine rebounds and added six points.
Freshman guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) is leading the team in scoring with 11.0 ppg and has posted a squad-high 7.5 rpg. Vitalis is second with 10.1 ppg as well as 6.9 rpg and junior guard Katie McCormick (Leonardtown, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) rounds out the top three with 9.0 ppg.
Georgetown is averaging 9.5 steals per game and is shooting 35.6 percent on the season.
St. Bonaventure defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles on Saturday, 72-60. The Bonnies jumped out to an early 15-3 lead, but that would be the largest it would hold all day. Junior forward Katie Healy paced the Bonnies with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. This was Healy's third double-double of the season.
This is the first meeting between the teams.
