Adomako Earns Fourth-Consecutive Rookie of the Week Honor

Jan. 26, 2015

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball freshman guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on Monday for the fourth-consecutive week after a pair of tough games for the Hoyas (4-17, 2-7 BIG EAST).

Adomako earns her fifth weekly honor after leading Georgetown with averages of 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of home battles against two of the top teams in the league.

Against St. John's on Friday the rookie totaled 15 points and six rebounds before exploding for 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists in an overtime tilt against league-leader and nationally-ranked Seton Hall.

Through nine league games, Adomako ranks seventh among all league players in both points (17.1) and rebounds (7.2).

This is Adomako's fifth-career rookie of the week honor. Along with her four-consecutive recent honors, she was recognized on Nov. 17 as well.

The Hoyas will be back in action next weekend as the squad travels to the Midwest to take on the DePaul University Blue Demons on Friday and the Marquette University Golden Eagles on Sunday. Friday's contest will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet in the Chicagoland area, and Sunday's game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Live stats will be available for both contests at www.GUHoyas.com.
