WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown women's tennis team travels to Philadelphia for a dual match against the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) on Thursday, Oct. 8. Matches are slated to start at 12 p.m.

GU last played in Penn's Cissie Leary Invitational from Oct.2- 4. The tournament was highlighted by Cecilia Lynham (Chevy Chase, Md./Holton Arms School) and Casey Marx's (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) run to claim the Doubles Flight A consolation.

The pair opened doubles action with a loss against Princeton, 6-3, but regrouped to defeat a talented Drexel duo in the second round, 7-6. In the final match they downed Maryland's Nataliya Bredikhina and Cassandre Thebault, 6-2, to win the Flight A doubles consolation.

The Hoyas are 1-0 in dual matches, having swept the University of District of Columbia, 9-0, earlier in the season.
