WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Women's Soccer Coach Dave Nolan announced the addition of Lyndse Hokanson to the coaching staff. Hokanson joins the Hoyas after spending the 2014 season as the graduate assistant coach at Valdosta State University.

At Valdosta State, Hokanson was primarily responsible for the daily training of the goalkeepers. In addition she aided in all aspects of team operation, including team training, recruiting and recruit visit coordination as well as creating scouting reports on opponents.

"Lyndse will be a great addition to our staff, working closely with our goalkeepers and helping with team's defense," Nolan said. "She is young, hardworking and motivated with a strong goal of learning her craft as she works toward becoming a head coach. We are excited to welcome her to Georgetown and I know she will be appreciative of the opportunity to work with one of the top programs in the country."

In 2014, Valdosta State won its first ever Gulf South Conference Championship and made it to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Championships before losing to the eventual runner-up Rollins College. The team also finished the season ranked No. 23 in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Valdosta's starting goalkeeper, Olivia Mills, was named First Team All-Gulf South Conference, earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team and finished the year with a 0.83 goals against average.

Prior to Valdosta State, Hokanson was the goalkeeper coach at Chantilly High School in Chantilly, Va., during the spring 2014 season. She also was a Region I associate coach in training for Region I Olympic Development Camp in July 2014. Hokanson started her coaching career while in college with the Vienna Youth Soccer Association with the U-10 VYS Patriots Red Girls team. She coached that squad through their U-14 season.

Hokanson graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University with a bachelor of arts in communication. While at George Mason, she was a three-year starter and team captain from 2012-14. She was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-Academic in 2013, as well as being an NSCAA Scholar-Athlete. Hokanson finished in the top 10 all-time in saves, save percentage, goals against average and shutouts at Mason. She was also a three-time Provost Scholar-Athlete.
