Jan. 28, 2016 WASHINGTON -
The Georgetown University Men’s and Women’s tennis teams will compete in a pair of dual matches this weekend at Navy on Friday, Jan. 29. All matches will be played at the indoor Tose Family Tennis Center at the Brigade Sports Complex, with the women’s contest beginning at 2 p.m., and the men following at 7 p.m.
Admission to all matches is free and the Brigade Sports Complex is open to the general public.
The Georgetown women’s tennis team is still looking to open its 2016 campaign as the Blue & Gray’s only match last weekend (Princeton) was cancelled due to the snowstorm.
The Hoya lineup features two seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and three freshmen. The Blue & Gray defeated Navy, 6-1, last season.
The men’s team is looking to bounce back from a 0-3 start on the year, having fallen to No. 9 North Carolina (UNC), Virginia Commonwealth (VCU) and Morgan State (MSU).
Following the dual matches this weekend, the GU men team’s next competition will be on Saturday, Feb. 6 when the team visits Princeton. The women’s team is set to face off against VCU on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
