Jan. 28, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (10-9, 3-6 BIG EAST) will head back out on the road this weekend to conclude a three-game road trip with BIG EAST Conference games at Providence College (4-15, 0-9 BIG EAST) and Creighton University (10-11, 4-5 BIG EAST). Friday's contest with the Friars is set for 7 p.m., while Sunday's game against the Bluejays will tipoff at 2 p.m. ET. Both games will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network.

On Monday, freshman guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after notching her first-career double-double on Sunday at Villanova, totaling game highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Additionally, sophomore guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring 13 points and grabbed six boards for the Hoyas on Sunday.
The Hoyas are coming off of a 57-51 victory on Sunday at Villanova, which entered the contest as winners of four straight and receiving votes in both national polls. With the win, the Hoyas snapped a four game losing streak.
In addition to White's and Adomako's performances, Logan Battle (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) was also in double figures with 12 points off the bench. Faith Woodard (Brandon, Fla./Freedom) had seven points, all coming in the second half.
Georgetown shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the floor and 50 percent (3-of-6) from 3-point range while holding Villanova to just 28.1 percent (18-of-64) and 29.6 percent (8-of-27) form beyond the arc. The Hoya defense forced 10 turnovers on five steals and had six blocks, three from Jade Martin (Bloomington, Minn./John F. Kennedy). GU led the Wildcats in points in the paint (24-20), second chance points (15-10), fast break points (8-4) and points off the bench (12-10).
White is leading the team in scoring with 14.7 ppg and has posted team highs of 6.0 rpg, 3.8 apg and 2.2 spg. She is among the BIG EAST leaders in all four categories, ranking seventh in scoring, 11th in rebounds, sixth in assists and second in steals. Adomako is second on the Hoyas with 13.8 ppg as well as 5.6 rpg. She ranks 11th in the conference in scoring and 14th in rebounding.
Georgetown is shooting 39 percent on the season and holds a +3.3 rebounding margin over opponents as well as a +1.8 turnover margin. GU leads the league in rebounding (42.3 rpg) and blocks (5.6 bpg), while ranking second in rebounding margin.
Providence is coming off of a 96-50 loss to then-No.24/21 DePaul. Freshman Maddie Jolin led the Friars with 12 points and a career-high seven rebounds. Providence has yet to win in the BIG EAST, having lost nine in a row. Sarah Beal and Jovana Nogic lead the Friars with 12.2 and 10.2 ppg, respectively. Erica Meyer comes off the bench and is third in the conference with 33 blocks.
The Blue & Gray is 28-29 all-time against the Friars, including a 63-53 Hoya victory at McDonough Arena earlier this month. Adomako led the way for GU, finishing with game highs of 19 points and nine rebounds, while also adding three steals and two assist. White chipped in 11 points to go along with five boards and three assists. Katie McCormick (Leonardtown, Md./Saint Mary's Ryken) had 10 points off the bench and Battle also had nine.
In its last outing, Creighton suffered a hard fought 79-72 loss to Marquette on the road. MC McGrory led the Bluejays with 18 points, while Lauren Works finished with 14. Audrey Faber leads Creighton in scoring, and ranks sixth in the BIG EAST, with an average of 14.8 ppg. McGrory is also averaging double figures, coming in with 11.9 ppg. The Bluejays will play Villanova on Friday before hosting the Hoyas.
Georgetown is 1-4 all-time against the Bluejays, with its lone win coming earlier this month when the Hoyas won a 69-57 decision at McDonough Arena. White tied a career high with 22 points, on an efficient 9-of-11 shooting from the floor and also added six rebounds and six assists. Adomako chipped in 18 points, including eight in the final quarter, and Dominique Vitalis (Bloomfield, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) was also in double figures with 10 points. Woodard contributed a game-high 11 rebounds.
