Oct. 25, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's golf team finishes in eighth place at the Homewood Suites/Hilton Garden Airport/FGCU Classic. The Hoyas shot a final round score of 22-over par 310, leaving them at 66-over par 930 for the tournament, at Old Corkscrew Golf Club.
Junior Jack Musgrave (Charleston, Ind./Andrean) led the way for the Hoyas finishing tied for 23rd at 13-over par 229. Juniors Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood) and Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) finished tied for 27th at 14 over par 230. Madsen fired the Hoyas' best round of the day at 1-over par 73. Senior Andrew Rudy (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) finished at 30-over par 246 leaving him tied for 73rd, with senior Austin Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) right behind him tied for 76th overall at 31-over par 247.
Eastern Kentucky remained up top, finishing in first place at 24-over par 888. Host Florida Gulf Coast finished in second place 28-over par 892. In a tight race for third place, Central Florida at 32-over par 893 held off Bethune-Cookman at 33-over 897. Will Sallee of Eastern Kentucky and Manuel Elvira of Central Florida finished the tournament tied for first overall at 3-over par 219
This tournament concludes the fall season for the Hoyas.
