WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's golf team finished the three-round Firestone Invitational at 32-over par 896 for the tournament. The Hoyas carded a 12-over par 300 in the third and final round.
Anthony Perrino (Concord, N.C./The Canon School) led the way on Tuesday posting a 2-over par 74, leaving Perrino at 15-over par 231, which was good for a tied for 75th. The Hoyas top two finishers were Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) and Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) at 4-over par 220 for the tournament, leaving them in a tied at 34th. Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River Community) finished at 12-over 228 which was good for a tied at 66th overall. Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons[Fla.]) finished the tournament at 16-over par 232, tied for 77th overall.
Cincinnati captured the team win, finishing at 14-under par 850. Right behind in second was Illinois state carding an 11-under 853, while host Akron finished at 8-under 856 in third. Rounding out the top five was Dayton at 4-under 860 and Eastern Michigan at 2-under 862. The individual winner was Austin Squires of Cincinnati who finished at 11-under par 205.
The Hoyas return to the course this weekend for the Gridiron Classic hosted by Notre Dame at The Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
