WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore men's basketball player Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping lead the Hoyas to a win over UNC Greensboro last Thursday.

The Blue & Gray beat the Spartans, 78-56, at Verizon Center. It was the sixth-straight win for Georgetown, who improved to 8-4 overall.

Govan scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds for his second-straight double-double, adding a career-high six assists and four blocked shots with no turnovers in the process. He connected on 9-of-13 shots from the field in the win.

In the last three games, Govan is averaging 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds, while shooting 56.7 percent from the floor.

Georgetown returns to play on Wednesday, Dec. 28, visiting Marquette in the BIG EAST Conference opener for both teams. The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. (ET), with Tim Brando calling the play-by-play and Jim Jackson serving as the color analyst. It will be shown live on FS1 and can be heard locally on 106.7 FM The Fan.
